Matt Corby: Monday (audio video)

Its a known fact that Matt Corby has been the Musical Prince in my heart since I saw him perform at Sxsw in 2011.  Sadly, Matt been off the grid for more than a year….but if you thinkg about it…..he performed at nearly every festival in the UK & Australia, it’s no wonder why he needed a break. During that time he went back into writers mode….and released his new single ‘Monday‘.

And with new music = live shows!

That’s right Matt will be performing live in Australia, so check out his site for more date information!

Be sure to check out the new single on iTunes, YouTube and Spotify.

Video: Kathryn Dean – I’ll Show You Crazy

When I hear Kathryn Dean sing I’m instantly reminded of Carrie Underwood and Joss Stone, a perfect mix of the beautiful tough girl with soulful sass to match. In September she debuted her self-titled EP, Kathryn Dean, on iTunes and was able to snag famed music director, Paul Boyd to direct her new single ‘I’ll Show You Crazy’.

At only 18 years old, this talented singer-songwriter music has been heard on NBC’s Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Special as well as CBS’s daytime soap opera ‘Young and the Restless’. Not to mention she has been up for various songwriting awards and her talents has created a buzz through out the industry.

If you want to keep up with Kathryn Dean be sure to check out her out on Facebook and Twitter.

Video: Elderbrook – Could (Official Video)

Elderbook

Last month musician Alexander Kotz aka Elderbrook released his new single Could’ from his highly anticipated EP ‘Simmer Down’. When the song first started I thought it was going to be your typical electronic pop song but I was completely wrong. There is something about the beat that will make you want to sway and the stripped down vocals will make you want to sing along.

Whenever I listen to Could I think of a nice glass of red wine. Not some el-cheapo wine, I’m talking that good Olivia Pope worthy wine. To me wine is the adulthood of alcohol, so Could is my adulthood song. Remember you don’t have to run to the nearest club to enjoy this song, just open that bottle of wine and dance in your living room.

And did I mention this twenty year old musician is self taught? I’m so impress but this little tidbit of information. As someone who has taken many guitar lesson and still cannot play a song this is an impressive feat.

Song of the Day: The Filthy Souls – Cold Hearts

Video: Tic Tic Boom! – How It Ends

Today, Tic Tic Boom! released a new video for their song ‘How It Ends’, directed by lead singer Leilani Francisco. If you follow the band on Instagram, Twitter and/or Facebook the last few weeks, you would have seen them leaving hints about the video shoot.

And my patience has been rewarded……

Its a great video and I simply was not prepared for the Romeo + Juliet twist I have to admit I was a blubbering fool by the end of this video. This video makes me EXCITED for the things to come with this band!

Enjoy!

Review: Sage + The Saints – I Will Lie EP

sagecoverlogo-reverbnation

I Will Lie now available on iTunes!

Sage and the Saint’s new EP ‘I Will Lie’, is a well written homage to country music.

When I first listened to the EP the song ‘Love and Pain’ made me burst out in tears. Not the watery or welled up eyes but big fat tears that cause me to ugly cry right in the middle of my cubicle. Between the piano intro and Sage’s voice which is filled with so much emotion you have no choice to feel….something.

Lyrically it’s completely relatable and when I should have been paying attention to the EP, I began to think about my personal life. I love songs that make me think and drive me to make changes. If this was Sage’s goal then mission accomplished.

Her song writing has grown so much since her last EP ‘Learning to Walk’ (FYI Ashtray is still my favorite song!). When I first heard the song ‘Take me to the South’ I felt it was nice bar song and didn’t think too much about it. But it’s the song that I find myself humming the most. It’s the type of song that’ll pop in your head on a regular basis but not in that irritating way. It’s like finding a twenty dollar bill in your wallet – just makes you happy.

“Take me to the south where the things move slow, we can talk about life, the city been mean and I’m tired of these street….”

Now I know why she left LA for the Nashville!

To say I enjoyed this EP would be an understatement.
